Carbrook, Burgers & Mates
Two announcements for the next game.
1) there will be a bacon & egg BBQ at the club prior to teeing off.
BBQ - 10am
Tee Off - 11am
2) It's bring a friend day so feel free to bring someone along. If you do I will draw you together, otherwise I'll randomly draw partners. Your mate doesn't have to have an AGU handicap. If they have a handicap from another social club we'll use that otherwise we'll guesstimate but please be fair.

Nudgee Result
Dave Raphael with 48 points. Is that a club record?
Parker is drooling about the snip but first he has to calculate CCR, ACR, wind rating, size of the field and a half a dozen other complicated things that make up his handicapping system...

Draw for Nudgee tomorrow
Big field (although we have a couple of groups getting away a bit earlier) AND it's a stroke event where you can't pick up AND it's getting dark very early SO can I please request that groups keep moving along at a reasonable pace.
You know all the old favourites - keep up with the group in front not the one behind, play ready golf - be ready when it's your shot, don't worry too much about the honour on the tee - if someone's ready have a hit, if you want to look at your putt from 4 different angles do it while the rest of the group are putting etc etc.

First Game Booked
First game of the 2009 season will be at Virginia on the Friday 30th January at 12.30pm. Let's have a good turn out to start the year off!
2009 Handicaps & Game Stats
Parker has provided handicaps for the start of 2009. Click on handicaps in the right hand nav bar to see them.
He has also provided games played statistics. Rod Smith has reached 300 games. Well done Smithy. I reached 100 (insert quip here about not including old Lands GC pre merger stats) and Locko & Goldie cracked 50.
Be good to see some bigger attendances this year and some growing of those stats.
Click here for the full list.

Wrap up from the AGM
Seemed a good time was had by all.
Congratulations to the awards winners :-
Club Champion - Brad Rogers
POA - Brad Rogers
Patron's Cup - P Miller
Big thank-you to to the Patrons John & Dora Crethary from Fresh Idea and our major sponsors Geoff Laing / Laing's Bricklaying and Tony Powell and TP Hoses.
I think the committee is unchanged. Bus trip will be organised by Rod Smith & Peter Symonds. Off pay day raffle will be organised by ? or was it still Merso?
Fees will be the same except we will now collect the $20 for raffle tickets at the beginning of the year with your fees. You will be allocated 10 numbers in the raffle.
I have uploaded the 2008 Treasurers report and the 2007 minutes.

2008 Calendar & Other Stuff
The 2008 Calendar can be viewed via the link in the nav bar to the right. The bus trip and our June & July games are still to be finalised.
There are also links for the starting handicaps for 2008 and the total number of career games played as at the start of the year.
The game stats may not be complete for old Lands Dept start since some of the pre Lands/DGI merger stats are not known but it's all we've got.

4 man teams :-
first 5 holes write down best stableford score only
next 4 holes write down best 2 stableford scores
next 4 holes write down best 3 stableford scores
next 5 holes write down all 4 stableford scores
3 man teams :-
first 6 holes write down best stableford score only
next 6 holes write down best 2 stableford scores
next 6 holes write down all 3 stableford scores
at the end the 3 man teams total score is multiplied by 1.25
Trust me this is as close to equitable as possible, (the 4 man teams will have written down 45 stab scores, the 3 man teams will have written down 36 scores x 1.25 = 45)
If you want to play and aren't in the draw or can't make it please ring me on 0415 908 796.
I have Norm standing by who can drop out if it helps to make it even teams.

Next Game is Friday 22nd June 7.45am
I've been smoking the crack pipe a bit lately...the next game info in the right hand nav bar was wrong again. It was showing 3rd August which of course is the next round of the club championship not the next scheduled game. Fixed now.
Thanks Richie!

At the AGM it was decided that if you couldn't play a match on the scheduled date you had to arrange to play it beforehand. Since the 1st & 2nd rounds are back to back it hasn't been possible to do that so we are allowing these matches to be played after the scheduled date, BUT THEY MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE THE NEXT ROUND ON THE 3RD AUGUST.
The players with an asterisk will win in the event of a non completed match since they were available to play on the scheduled date.
